Creativity in Schools. The Art School.

I wanted to focus on the Art School I run at a primary school in Croydon. The students range from Year 3 to Year 6, with a diverse learning need.
I have been running the club for nearly a year and I focus on exploration of different materials and processes alongside highlighting Artists as an inspiration for a media or art style. In an age where the curriculum squeezes the arts out of schools, it is refreshing to find a school that is both embracing creativity during the school day and also promoting the arts after school. I personally think that approaching learning with creativity can open its engagement to a wider cohort of learners. In addition to adding open-ended, experimental and playful learning to the day to day experience of children.
The following are some of the pictures taken over the last few months with my students. The youngest members are 7 years old.
